The collectables include a 1 gram gold foil and 5g silver foil. The face features a stunning, coloured, engraved image of Al Wasl Plaza, while the logo and name of the World Expo are engraved on the obverse. The foil is presented in a high-quality case, and inside, the story of Al Wasl Plaza is told in both English and Arabic. As a premium memento of the Arab world’s biggest ever event, this is a must-have for any metal enthusiast.
The New Zealand Mint has also released a 40-gram silver medallion and a 7-gram gold medallion in English and Arabic. The front of the collectable features an engraved image of the official Expo 2020 Dubai logo, while the name of the World Expo is engraved on the obverse. The medallion features the official Expo 2020 Dubai logo design, which takes its inspiration from a ring found at an archaeological site in the UAE desert. The logo symbolises UAE’s connection to its ancient civilisation and is meant to send a message to the world about its rich heritage and deep roots.
The expo will also have three subthemes: opportunity, mobility and sustainability, each with its own pavilion. Participating countries have their own pavilions with plans to integrate the structures built into the new smart city Dubai has planned. The ‘smart site’ hopes to bring technology to find solutions to create a more efficient, engaging world. Everything from tickets to tech-enabled volunteers, smart food ordering, dynamic crowd management, and everything in between, Expo 2020 will deliver a unique and memorable experience for visitors while also enabling business and raising public awareness of sustainability.
