To mark the 75th anniversary of the film Dumbo (Released in 1941), New Zealand mint released two coins, one of Gold and Silver each. The design of these coins is identical, except for the metal used.
On one side of the coin, it shows the carved characters of the film. A flying elephant Jumbo Jr but badly nicknamed Dumbo (is the name of the film too). Sitting on his head is his only true friend Timothy a mouse. The background is a circus tent and a hilly region. The other side of these coins a has portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, with ELIZABETH II, 2016, NIUE, the country of issue, and the monetary denomination. Also inscribed is Proof Quality.
The silver coin is 1 troy ounce of 99.9% silver and measures 40.60 mm in diameter, 4 mm thick. Whereas the Gold coin is composed of 1/4 oz. of 99.9% gold, measures 22 mm in diameter. Coin mintage limited to 10,000 pieces for Silver and 1000 pieces for Gold Coin.
The pricesĀ of the Silver coin is USD 78.73, and that of Gold is USD 612.36. These coins come in an attractive wooden Box having a certificate of Authenticity. Though New Zealand Mint releases these, these coins can be purchased as a silver investment through Perth Mint.
