Sales Of US Silver, Gold Coins Drop to 10-Month Lows In May
As per preliminary reports from US Mint, sales of silver coins hit a 10-month low in May. It sold hardly 2.02 million ounces of American Eagle silver coins in May, the weakest total since July 2014 and down by almost 28% from 2.8 million ounces in April.
US Mint Lifts Allocation of American Silver Eagle Bullion Coins
After a nearly seven-month purchasing restriction, the US Mint announced on June 1, 2015, that the American Silver Eagle coin is now available, in unlimited quantities, for order by authorized purchasers. The allocation was set in place last November when consumer demands exceeded the mints supply of silver metal coins.
